ShopRite Privacy Notice: Facial Recognition

ShopRite only uses biometric (facial recognition) technology for the safety and security of our customers and store associates. Retail stores in Connecticut that utilize this technology are required to post a clear and conspicuous sign to notify the public if biometric information is being collected, shared, or stored.

Biometric information is collected and stored within an internal database that is only shared with other ShopRite store locations and with the software provider in an anonymized format without any links to personal identifying information.

Images from individuals that have previously been banned from our stores are maintained in the system; if they re-enter a store location utilizing facial recognition technology, store personnel are notified. Data not matched to enrolled images is purged every 90 days.
