Family owned for three generations, our store has been rooted in the New Jersey community since 1954. We pride ourselves on our tradition of families serving families.

Family History
Soon after John Sitar opened the ShopRite of Carteret, New Jersey, in 1954 and joined Wakefern, his young son, Len, started in the business. As years passed, this family venture grew from a small corner grocery store to today’s 62,000-square-foot ShopRite. After years of working at various positions, Len became president and CEO in 1995. His sister Teresa Serluco serves as chief financial officer. Len and Theresa are dedicated to continuing their dad’s great work in the store and in the community.
