Anchor Hocking® lids and bands provide the security and quality to make you feel confident when canning. Lids have a vacuum indicator button to let you know the container is sealed. All lids and bands are BPA free which means these products are not made using harmful chemicals and are safer for your family. Wide mouth lids can be used with: Half pint (8 oz) Pint (16 oz) Quart (32 oz) Jelly jars (8 oz) Packing applications: Fruit syrups, chutneys, jams, jellies Conserves and preserves, sliced fruits, pie fillings Vegetables, salsas, sauces, relishes Pizza sauce, pickles, tomato-based juices
Preparation & Usage
Lid preparation Important- the lid can only be used once. Wash lids and metal bands in hot, soapy water. Rinse well. Food processing Fill each jar following the canning recipe. Wipe clean any food from the rim of the jar. Finger tighten band on lid and jar. Seal inspection Press on the cooled lid - If the jar is sealed, the lid will not flex up or down. Allow jars to cool for up to 24 hours before checking seal.
