Preparation & Usage
Easy canning steps: 1. Wash and heat your jars and lids 2. Set lids and bands aside until ready to use. 3. Fill hot jars with product. Leave space between product and top of jars as recommended in recipe. 4. Remove air bubbles from product by slipping a knife along the sides of the jar, between product and jar. 5. Put lid on jar, sealing compound next to glass. 6. Screw band on firmly - do not over tighten. Band must fit evenly all the way around the threads. 7. Process immediately according to recipe and instructions from manufacturer of pressure canner or water-bath canner. 8. Using jar tongs, remove jars from canner and place on rack or folded cloth, allowing space between jars for air circulation. 9. Allow jars to cool for 12 to 24 hours before handling. 10. Do not tighten band again. 11. Press the center of the lid with fingertips. If dome of lid is depressed, lid is sealed.
