DIY Seed Paper
DIY Seed Paper
000
Ingredients
1 empty Bowl & Basket egg carton
1 packet wildflower seeds
Directions
  1. Rip the egg carton into small pieces and add to a blender. Add water to the blender to cover the paper pieces, then place the lid on the blender and pulse until the mixture is relatively smooth (you shouldnt be able to see any individual paper pieces).
  2. Remove lid from blender and stir (do NOT blend) in 2-3 tsp of wildflower seeds.
  3. Strain the mixture over the sink using a mesh sieve to remove most of the water, then spread the seed paper mixture out onto a paper–towel-lined cookie sheet, making sure it's even and not too thin in places.
  4. Blot with more paper towels and then allow to dry for 3-4 hours.
  5. Note: If it seems the paper is taking very long to dry, you can also use a hair dryer to help it dry faster.
  6. Once dry, cut into desired shapes or simply cut into squares. Seed paper can now be placed into the garden! The paper will decompose and the seeds will begin to grow in no time!
