Ingredients
1 Box Barilla® Protein+® Rigatoni pasta
2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 Stalk celery, ground or grated
1 Carrot, ground or grated
1 Onion, ground or grated
1 Pound ground beef
1/2 Cup red wine
2 Cups canned diced tomatoes
1/2 Cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated
2 Tablespoons butter
Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
Directions
- In a skillet sauté prepared celery, carrot and onion with olive oil for five minutes. Add in beef and brown, about 10 minutes.
- Deglaze with wine, reduce completely, stir in tomatoes and 1 cup of water, season with salt and pepper and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil, cook pasta according to package directions.
- Drain pasta and toss with meat sauce over high heat for one minute. Turn off heat, stir in cheese and butter before serving.
