Ingredients
1 Box Barilla® Protein+® Rigatoni pasta
2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 Stalk celery, ground or grated
1 Carrot, ground or grated
1 Onion, ground or grated
1 Pound ground beef
1/2 Cup red wine
2 Cups canned diced tomatoes
1/2 Cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated
2 Tablespoons butter
Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
Directions
  1. In a skillet sauté prepared celery, carrot and onion with olive oil for five minutes. Add in beef and brown, about 10 minutes.
  2. Deglaze with wine, reduce completely, stir in tomatoes and 1 cup of water, season with salt and pepper and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil, cook pasta according to package directions.
  4. Drain pasta and toss with meat sauce over high heat for one minute. Turn off heat, stir in cheese and butter before serving.
