That’s right, our team of nutritional gurus are getting up close and personal to give you the inside scoop on the go-to foods they love and share with their families.

Dietitians’ Favorite Snacks
Winners:

Popcorn, Nut Butters, Dried Beans (i.e. - roasted edamame, roasted chickpeas)
What the RD’s say:
Just like everyone else, dietitians love to snack! Each RD has their own favorite go-to snack, but overall, our team of experts choose popcorn as their favorite nosh! Why popcorn? For starters, popcorn is the only snack that is 100 percent unprocessed whole grain. It’s also high in fiber, which means it will hold you over until your next meal. But best of all, air-popped popcorn allows for a 2-3 cup serving size, so there’s always plenty to munch on.

Dietitians’ Favorite: Refrigerated Aisle
Winners:
Eggs, Greek Yogurt, Kombucha
What the RD’s say:
Our RD’s say no trip down the refrigerated aisle would be complete without adding these go-to favorites to their cart: Eggs, Greek yogurt, and a bottle or two of Kombucha, a fermented beverage that contains probiotics to keep your gut in good health.

Dietitians’ Favorite: Deli Department
Winners:
Guacamole, Hummus, Salsa
What the RD’s say:
Our team is all about spreading the love, especially when it comes to good-for-you spreads like guacamole, humus and salsa. Not only are they delicious, they’ve got great health benefits, too. For instance, guacamole provides healthy fats that will keep your heart strong. Hummus provides a boost of protein and it’s available in a variety of delicious flavors. Salsa is a great snack or wonderful used as a salad dressing alternative.

Dietitians’ Favorite: Frozen
Winners:
Frozen Fruits, Frozen Veggie Burgers, Frozen Vegetables
What the RD’s say:
When it comes to frozen anything, our team is happy to brave the coldest aisle to fill their cart with freezer-found bounty such as frozen fruits, frozen veggie burgers and frozen vegetables. And guess what? Our RD’s say that ‘frozen’ is usually just as healthy as the ‘fresh’ stuff, since it’s packed at the peak of freshness.

Dietitians’ Favorite: Drinks
Winners:
Herbal Teas, Water and Sparkling Seltzers
What the RD’s say:
When it comes to hydration, our RD’s are all about personalization, which is why teas, water and seltzers bubbled up to the top of their favorite drinks lists. Whether they crave drinks that are hot or cold, bubbly or flat, our RD team says there’s no limit to the delectable and delicious combinations that can be created with these refreshing options.

Dietitians’ Favorite: Meat Protein
Winners:
Chicken Breast, Ground Turkey, Lean Red Meat
What the RD’s say: When it comes to balancing their plates and busy lifestyles, our dietitians consider lean cuts of meat and poultry a top choice for adding a protein-packed serving to lunch, dinner or even breakfast entrees.

Dietitians’ Favorite: Fruits
Winners:
Blueberries, Raspberries and Apples
What the RD’s say: You can't go wrong with any fruits, but our RD team can’t resist the allure of blueberries, raspberries, and apples for the burst of flavors, convenience, and the loads of antioxidants they provide.

Dietitians’ Favorite: Grains
Winners:
Farro, Beans, Oats
What the RD’s say:
Farro may be an ancient grain, but thanks to this poll, farro has just been declared a newfound favorite of our RD team. This heart-healthy grain provides fiber and protein, making it a grain they feel great about serving to their families.

What the RD’s say:
With so many delicious spices available, choosing favorites just didn’t seem fair! What the RD’s say: Just like us, our RD’s are always on the lookout for healthy, quick-and-easy solutions to their dinnertime dilemmas. Their solution? Seafood! Salmon, shrimp or tuna can usually be found fresh, frozen or canned (so it’s readily available). Best of all, a single serving provides healthy fats, and essential vitamins like Omega 3s.
