White Pizza with Bacon

Posted by

Last week I received a package of goodies from ShopRite that included a bottle of ShopRite Imported Basting Oil.  The product is a blend of oils and herbs with a subtle garlic flavor.  You can use the oil to baste chickens and other meats, but I chose to use it on my favorite food in the world:  pizza.

I absolutely love pizza and recently I’ve been choosing to create my own at home instead of purchase it at a takeout spot.  I enjoy making  my own pizza dough, but you can absolutely use a store-bought variety to make this recipe even easier.

I rolled my dough thin, then topped it with a light coating of ShopRite Imported Basting Oil.  The oil has just enough garlic flavor and it also has thyme and parsley.  I was impressed that the herbs in the oil are bright green and tasted really fresh on my pizza.  I topped the crust with three cheeses and threw in some bacon to make sure my husband would eat it.  He called this creation “Cheesy Bread with Bacon”, but I consider it to be a pizza.  I served it with a salad and it was a great weeknight dinner.  I plan to make it again this weekend.

White Pizza with Bacon

pizza dough (about one pound)

2 Tablespoons ShopRite Imported basting oil

about 2 cups shredded white cheese (I used a mozzarella, white cheddar, and fresh asiago)

3 pieces of cooked  bacon, crumbled (optional)

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

On a sheet of parchment paper, roll pizza dough into a circle, about 14 inches in diameter.  Dough should be thin.

Spread the oil over the pizza dough.  Top the dough with cheese and bacon.

Keep the pizza on the parchment paper and transfer it directly to your baking pan.  Bake on a preheated pizza stone, pizza pan, or baking sheet for 15-22 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve hot.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: As a POTLUCKTM blogger, I received the ShopRite Imported Basting Oil from ShopRite for free.
