Coconut Raisin Chocolate Popcorn

When thinking about after-school snacks do you cringe? Do your kids come home from school starving and ready to tear up your pantry or refrigerator in search of something to eat? Never fear. I have an answer for you, Coconut Raisin Chocolate Popcorn.

I packed this popcorn with ingredients like ShopRite organic raisins and other nutritious ingredients like coconut and almonds. Raisins are an all-natural, dried-by-the-sun fruit you can feel good about sending with your kids as they head back to school or offering as an after-school snack.  Convenient and portable, raisins are a great choice for healthy, on-the-go snacking (perfect for the soccer fields), lunch boxes, quick after school snacks or wholesome recipes.

ShopRite raisins are sold in a variety of way: large canister, single-serve boxes, golden or organic. According to the USDA raisins are the most economical dried fruit – I always have them on hand in my pantry for when I am running low on fresh fruit. It really is the perfect solution for fruit at any time and my kids love them. ShopRite raisins are a no-brainer in our house.


1 cup popcorn kernels (unpopped)
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 chocolate chips
1/2 cup coconut chips
1/2 cup ShopRite Raisins
1/2 cup almonds, chopped
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon sugar (combined)

  1. Pop popcorn kernels in coconut oil using air pop method or stovetop.
  2. While popcorn is still hot place in a large bowl and add chocolate chips. Toss to coat.
  3. Once popcorn is coated lightly with chocolate, add coconut chips, raisins and almonds to popcorn and combine.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture on top and serve. Store in airtight container for up to 5 days.
