Milk and Cookies For Adults

Posted by

The other night, I woke up at 2AM and couldn’t get back to sleep. When reading a boring book, gentle yoga and counting sheep all failed to cure my insomnia, I headed to the kitchen for a tried and true snack: milk and cookies.

Except we didn’t have any cookies. Instead, I reached for ShopRite Imported Cranberry Biscotti. Biscotti are twice-baked biscuits that originated in Italy. Since they are dry and crunchy, they are served with a drink, for dunking. In Italy, the drink is usually a fortified wine, and in the US they are served with tea or coffee.

I’m not a coffee drinker and caffeine wouldn’t help me sleep, so I had my biscotti with milk. I loved the small size, and the cranberry added just the right amount of sweetness.

If you have to be awake in the middle of the night, you might as well have a yummy treat to take your mind off the clock.  And when I eventually went back to sleep, it was with a satisfied stomach.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: As a POTLUCK blogger, I received the ShopRite Imported Cranberry Biscotti for free.
