About Glass Gardens Stores

The Glass brothers, Ben and Abe, started their family’s legacy in the supermarket industry when they opened a produce business in 1938. After many successful years in business, they officially incorporated their company, calling it Glass Gardens, Inc., and opened their first store in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, in 1955. Glass Gardens and affiliated companies currently have seven New Jersey and two New York State ShopRites, which are owned and operated by Abe and Ben’s sons, Irv and Terry Glass.

Our Mission: To quietly become the uncommonly best: people, sales, service and profit. All performed with the highest level of integrity.
PEOPLE: To create an atmosphere that encourages productivity, job satisfaction, individual growth, and makes us want to come to work. To commit to our associates and customers, the safest and cleanest environment in which to work or shop.
SALES: To grow our business by maintaining a superior low price image while never compromising our commitment to quality.
SERVICE: To provide a level of customer-driven service that exceeds the customer’s expectations and helps to take the worry out of shopping.
PROFIT: To derive from our goals, a profit that will be reinvested in our company and reward us for our efforts.

Community Outreach

We are committed to giving back to the members of our communities, who enable us to grow our business, enhance our services, and create new jobs.
