Directions

Cooking Instructions: Microwave (Due to differences in microwave ovens, cooking time is approximate): 1 Serving: 1 cup water (For thicker grits use less water; for thinner grits use more water); 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) grits; dash salt (optional). Stove Top: 2 Servings: 2 cups water (For thicker grits use less water; for thinner grits use more water); 1/2 cup grits; 1/8 tsp salt (optional). 4 Servings: 4 cups water (For thicker grits use less water; for thinner grits use more water); 1 cup grits; 1/4 tsp salt (optional). 6 Servings: 6 cups water (For thicker grits use less water; for thinner grits use more water); 1-1/2 cups grits; 1/2 tsp salt (optional). Microwave Directions: 1. For 1 serving, combine 1 cup cold water, 1/4 cup grits and dash of salt in a 2-cup microwave-safe bowl; stir. 2. Microwave on high 3 to 4 minutes until thickened; stir. Stove Top Directions: 1. Bring water and salt to a rolling boil. 2. Slowly stir in grits; reduce to medium heat. 3. Cook 5 to 7 minutes; stirring frequently. 4. Remove from heat; cover; let stand until thickened; stir.
