Traditional Oven: 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. 2. In a un-greased 1-1/2 quart casserole, combine 2-cups boiling water, 2-tablespoons margarine or butter, 1/2 cup milk, potato sauce mix and potato slices. 3. Bake, un-covered about 20 minutes or until top is light brown and potatoes are tender (bake 5 minutes longer for more golden brown top and softer potatoes). 4. Remove from over (sauce will thicken upon standing). Microwave: 1. In a 2-quart round microwavable casserole or bowl, combine 2-3/4-cups hot water, 2-tablespoons butter or margarine, 2/3-cup milk, potato sauce mix and potato slices. 2. Microwave uncovered on High about 25 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, until potatoes are tender. (Potatoes will continue to soften as they stand). Because microwaves cook differently, time is approximate. Stove Top: In a 2-quart saucepan combine 2-cups hot water, 2-tablespoons margarine or butter, 2/3-cup milk, potato sauce mix and potato slices. Heat over high heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 15 to 16 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and sauce is desired consistency. (Sauce will thicken as it stands.) Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from heat.
