Waverly Markets, LLC

About Waverly Markets
As an eight year old, Rich Cohen was a fixture in his grandfather’s market in Springfield, MA, adding up grocery orders on a paper bag – a first indication of his love of numbers and the business. That market, Waverly Market, would become the foundation and inspiration for his company, Waverly Markets, LLC/ShopRite of Manchester. Following the example of his grandfathers and his father, Stan Cohen, Rich has made it his business to continue the tradition of families feeding families. Rich, his wife Kye, daughter Jordan and son Alex have owned and operated the store together for the last 11 years.

As a member of the Wakefern/ShopRite cooperative, the Cohen Family believes in the successful partnership created by large company buying power and local, family owned business. Their company is dedicated to providing an “Exceptional Experience” for its associates, customers and community. This culture of mutual respect is key to the family spirit of the company; and works to establish long term careers for its associates and meaningful relationships with its customers. Associates at Waverly Markets, LLC/ShopRite of Manchester are presented with excellent opportunities to grow with the company, extensive training and skill development and a commitment to helping all associates nurture their individual talents.

Community Outreach
Part of providing an “Exceptional Experience” is giving back to the communities we serve. ShopRite of Manchester is committed to serving hundreds of community organizations and schools annually through donations and sponsorships. Through ShopRite’s Partners in Caring program, which is dedicated to facilitating the distribution of food to those who need it most, ShopRite of Manchester supports local food banks and food pantries. The Cohen family is active on the Board of Directors of Capital Workforce Partners (CWP), one of five Workforce Investment Boards serving 37 municipalities in North Central Connecticut. CWP coordinates comprehensive programs that are critical in developing a skilled, educated, and vital workforce. In addition, the Cohens serve on the Board of Directors of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, and in 2003, Rich Cohen received the organization’s Community Achievement Award honoring an individual for his outstanding service to business and the community. He also serves as an executive committee member of the Connecticut Food Association. ShopRite of Manchester is steadfast in its commitment to being a great place to work, a great place to shop, and a great resource for the community!
