Each year seems to pass by more quickly. Maybe you look back on 2013 and wish you had kept that promise to eat better or cook with more fresh ingredients. At ShopRite®, we want to give your New Year’s cooking resolutions a fighting chance with our in-store Culinary Workshops.
Cook more and eat well in our weekly culinary classes. Join our accomplished chefs and master culinary techniques that are sure to make you a better cook. From basic cooking skills that will save you time to international flavors for the more adventurous palate, you’ll prepare recipes that you can’t wait to make again at home. Here’s what’s in store:
In January, we begin with a focus on saving time with Family-Friendly, Make-Ahead Meals. We also kick off a new and exciting three-part series called Italy Revealed. We’ll explore those quintessential regions of Italy known for feasts, festivals and fabulous foods. Finally, in our Local Game Day Favorites class we’ll bring you a few fan favorites as we gear up for the 2014 Big Game in New Jersey.
February kicks off with recipes both for the heart and from the heart. Skip the crowded restaurant this year, and make your own indulgent Valentine’s Day dinner at home using our Recipes for Romance. Next, in our Small Plates: Fruits de Mer class we’ll prepare a menu of seductively simple small plates featuring seafood. Finally, we journey to India as we prepare an array of aromatic dishes in our Global Eats series.
In March, you’ll want to check out our Understanding Umami class, where we’ll explore and savor the “fifth taste”—umami, or, in Japanese, “deliciousness.” For St. Patrick’s Day, we look to the Emerald Isle for some inspired craveable Irish pub fare in our St. Patrick’s Pub Dinner. Finally, we “hit the road” again in our Food Truck Nation series, featuring some of the hottest Puerto Rican dishes.
In every Culinary Workshop our goal is to share knowledge, teach new recipes, improve skills and have fun from start to finish. I hope you’ll join us! Stop by the ShopRite® Courtesy Counter on your next shopping trip, and register for any of our workshops. (See the store schedule on page 11.)

To learn additional food and cooking tips, register for one of our fun, interactive ShopRite’s Culinary Workshops in select ShopRite stores. ShopRite’s Culinary Workshop is a hands-on cooking class program taught by a select team of professional chefs from top restaurants, caterers and hotels. These friendly chef instructors share their professional skills and knowledge in a hands–on class offered most weeks in select stores.
These enjoyable and affordable classes (only $20-$35!) are offered in a number of ShopRite Supermarket locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.
