No? Oh. Well that’s probably my fault. You don’t even know me! In all my excitement, I forgot to introduce myself.
Hi! I’m Dana, author of Food for Thought, and the newest (and clearly most excited) member of the Potluck Panel.
Ok, so maybe you’re not excited to meet me just yet. But you will be. I promise.
They say first impressions are everything, so here’s my first offering to you. A recipe for an easy, delicious, and crowd-pleasing Asian Style Garlic Sesame Pasta Salad, made with ShopRite’s Special Edition Asian Style Garlic Sesame Sauce.
Make it. Bring it to your next Summer BBQ. Serve it as a side with dinner. Add chicken or shrimp and make it as a main course.
Whatever you do, just make it. And then, I’m positive, you’ll be excited you met me.
Asian Style Garlic Sesame Pasta Salad
1 lb thin whole wheat spaghetti
1 head broccoli, stalks removed and florets cut into bite sized pieces
1 pint grape tomatoes, halved
1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips
1/2 cup ShopRite Special Edition Asian Style Garlic Sesame Sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1/2 to 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 tablespoons chopped scallions
1. Break spaghetti in half and cook according to directions on package. Drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
2. In a medium sized saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Blanch broccoli florets in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. Remove excess water by patting the broccoli florets dry with paper towels.
3. To the spaghetti, add the broccoli florets, tomato, red pepper, Asian Style Garlic Sesame Sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Mix well. Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.
4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is best). Enjoy!
