The International Drug Information Center of the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College
of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Long Island University is collaborating with ShopRite
to serve the drug information needs of healthcare consumers. Established in 1974,
the International Drug Information Center is staffed by drug information specialists,
clinical pharmacists, and pharmacologists who are experts concerning medications,
nutritional supplements, and herbs. The purpose of this service is to provide information
concerning the use of medications, nutritional supplements, and herbs. The answer
will provide a general response to your question. Requests for patient-specific
information need to be directed to your healthcare provider who is familiar with
your medical history, current medical condition(s), and with your medication profile.
A confidential response will be provided to you within 2 business days (excluding
weekends and university holidays). The response will be provided by Email only.
This service does not provide telephone or letter responses. If your question is
urgent in nature, please contact your Shop Rite pharmacist or other healthcare provider
to whom you have immediate access.
This service will not provide information concerning the following:
- Availability of products within your local ShopRite pharmacy
- Treatment of a medical emergency or poisoning - call 9-1-1 or your local poison
control center
- Diagnosis of a disease
- Treatment of a specific symptom or medical condition
- Illicit or illegal drug use or testing for such drugs
- Pharmacy law - contact your state board of pharmacy
- Drug pricing
- Beauty aids or cosmetics
