Check Out Hunger Last year, ShopRite customers raised more than $400,000 for Check-Out Hunger!
What is Check-Out Hunger? It’s a quick and easy way for shoppers to help fight hunger in our communities through regional food banks from late September through January. Why Check-Out Hunger? There are 35 million Americans, 13 million of whom are children, who have to skip meals or wonder when they will eat next. Shoppers will find a display of Check-Out Hunger donation slips at the checkout aisles. Every $1, $3, or $5 donation slip has its own UPC bar code, just like any other item in our stores. Whenever a shopper wants to donate, the cashier will scan the Check-Out Hunger item. The donation will automatically be added to the bill and will appear on the receipt. It’s that simple and it makes a big difference for those in need. The following food banks benefit from ShopRite’s participation in Check-Out Hunger:
