The Best of… Yogurt
Yogurt is considered a “functional food” because it contains naturally occurring probiotics -- bacteria that help
promote healthy digestion, plus it provides you with essential nutrients like calcium and vitamin D. Even people
with lactose intolerance are often able to tolerate yogurt in moderation. Some yogurts (those not containing
artificial sweeteners) can be high in sugar, due to the naturally occurring milk sugar (lactose). However if choose
wisely, yogurt’s benefits far outweigh its risks. Try it in a smoothie or topped with fresh fruit and cereal for
breakfast! Here are your guidelines for choosing a “Best of” yogurt:
Try StonyField yogurt varieties, Dannon Fruit on Bottom, Chobani Greek Yogurt
