Serve baked chips or toast whole grain pitas and serve with this Seven Layer Dip:
Start with a layer of fat-free refried beans, top with a layer of low fat sour cream mixed with low sodium taco season mix, then add guacamole, salsa, low-fat shredded cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, and finish off with olives.
Burgers or Chili: This one is easy. Substitute ground chicken or turkey breast in place of ground beef. For burgers, be sure to add ketchup, soy sauce, or fresh herbs to enhance the flavor add moisture.
Hot dogs, bratwurst, and sausage: Substitute reduced-fat products made with lean turkey or vegetarian versions, and use whole-grain buns.
Buffalo Wings: Instead of traditional chicken wings, toss boneless, skinless chicken breast tenders in prepared buffalo sauce or simply prepare your own sauce by combining barbecue sauce with bottled hot pepper sauce. Bake chicken and serve with a side of reduced fat blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.
