"ShopRite Pavilion" Philadelphia’s neighborhood ShopRites again a big part of community celebration Philadelphia (Aug. 8, 2007) – From tips on eating right and looking your best, to free dental checkups for kids and health advice from a pharmacist, the ShopRite Pavilion will have something for everyone at the 29th annual Unity Day in Philadelphia. Presented by radio station WDAS-FM, Unity Day celebrates family values and community togetherness, and will be held Sunday, Aug. 19, on the Ben Franklin Parkway. Each session also will include free drawings for gift baskets and other prizes, and all visitors to the ShopRite Pavilion can sample a variety of ShopRite and name-brand products, courtesy of ShopRite and participating vendors. “Unity Day is a tremendous celebration and ShopRite is delighted to be part of the fun, but it’s also a chance for us to share some information with our neighbors that can help them enhance their lives in a meaningful way,” said Karen Meleta spokeswoman for ShopRite. The ShopRite Pavilion is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and, along with the scheduled programs, will offer free blood-pressure screenings and include activities presented by participating vendors. The Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Mobile Dental Van will offer free dental exams to children ages 1 through 12. The Pantene Style Studio will let guests try a new computer-simulated hairstyle (complete with a souvenir photo). And, Lawry’s will offer samples of grilled chicken prepared with its seasonings and marinades. “Whether it’s a snack or a door prize, or information that can help you make healthier decisions, everybody who visits the ShopRite Pavilion is going to leave with something they can feel good about,” Meleta said. |
